The steel manufacturer Saarstahl AG is investing in a new cooling bed with a directly adjoining finishing line on rolling mill 14 at its Völklingen-Nauweiler location. PLAKOMA GmbH is carrying out the contract.
The facility will essentially consist of a 130m long rake-type cooling bed followed by layer roller tables and three abrasive cutting machines with longitudinal length stoppers.

The scope of delivery offered by Saarstahl AG will thus again be extended in future to include the possibility to discharge oversized bar steel in lengths of up to 27.5m.

The layers which have been cut according to customer specifications are collected, bundled, weighed, labelled and finally bound.Assembly and commissioning will take place at the turn of the year 2010 to 2011.
